I am stuck in Stockholm
Oh so far from my home.
My money has run low
And now I’ve got no place to go.

From below It’s paradise
A land so rich in all the ways
But once you’re there you realize
There’s more to it than meets the eye.

In the alleys of the stores
There’s no bargain to be found
Wait! That price for that amount!
I think I’ll fast until I starve

Swedes are pretty and so you’d think
That what they eat must be healthy
But the truth is they chug down sweets
Or a hot dog right on the street.

Swedes are friendly but not your friends
So if you find yourself in need of help
Look for a friend from you’re from
You’ll spare yourself doors in your face.

And when I say that all in all
Life here is sweet, it’s got it all
Or close to it, it’s wonderful
Then all the Swedes become vocals

“Have you not heard about the gangs?
Well now I’ve heard about the gangs, but let me tell about a little trouble of my own.”

I am stuck in Stockholm
Oh so far from my home
My money has run low
And now the wind is blowing cold

I remember in December
In the early days of my stay
I’d always give the same answer
To the locals that used to say:

“Isn’t the city too cold?
\- It’s actually not that cold.”

But now the cold is much colder
And the wind bites are much stronger.
It’s midday my fingers freeze.
Will they fall off before it’s spring?

Life here ain’t cheap, but pay is high
So any job, will be worthwhile
Or so I thought, cause paperwork
Got in the way. I’ve waited weeks
For a permit. Now what’s it worth
To have EU citizenship?

In the meantime, worked for this guy
An Italian, with a crooked smile.
We’re in Sweden so I assumed
This Italian plays by the rules.
But once again, I was naive
Cause now this prick ain’t paying me!

Does he not know that in big cities
Young men alone are a dangerous breed.
I could stick my knife to his throat
Threaten him till he gives what he owes.
We’re in Sweden, his address is public
Maybe I should pay him a visit!

But as I daydream revenge schemes
And start to lose sense of reality
I realize Christ is right, when hit
You’re better off turning the other cheek!

But for now

I am stuck in Stockholm
Oh so far from my home
My money has run low
I may as well put on a show.

Let me tell you a short story
That dates back to ancient Greece
When an old man named Socrates
Imagined a strange city
Where justice and harmony
Were the sole guides in everything

This city begins as any
From one principle that is

No man on his own is self-sufficient

Yet here I am, on the street
Not living by the words I preach

I need an ally.
I need an ally.
I need an ally!

You play the guitar I can sing
Together we can make something
Here is a list of songs
I’m sure people can vibe along
We’ll start small, right on the streets
Or any place where fit two stalls
Then hit the bars, the concert halls
Before summer, we’ll make it big
So for July, I can come home
With my pockets full of krones!

But for now

I am stuck in Stockholm
Oh so far from my home
My money has run low
And my heart longs for love

God knows I am just a young man
With a big heart, full of passion
It can beat loud for a woman
Oh yes so loud, louder than drums

But in this land, what’s in the air?
Cause their beauty has no compare
Were they sent out straight from heaven?
Cause all these girls look like angels

Shiny blond hair on their dark coats
A radiant skin, that casts a glow
Bright blue eyes, that shoot arrows
I feel my chest’s ‘bout to explode!

Call a doctor!
I’ve just been struck.
By an arrow
It’s cupid’s work

I wish I had one I could call honey
To go back to at the end of the day
Weary from work, I’d walk through the cold
Thinking of her as I make my way home
I’d open the door, and there she’d be
Doing these things, oh so charming
I’d thank the Lord, cause I’d be thinking
“What have I done to be so lucky?”

I’d take her in my arms and embrace her
Together we’d make this city warmer
With her skin against mine
One kiss at a time
